In the year 2021, we became the first service provider in Dube Trade Port Corporation’s (DTPC) history to position that organization for the successful implementation and compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This we did by collaborating with DTPC to develop and implement a comprehensive suite of POPIA compliance services. These included but were not limited to:
- Reviewing and amending service level agreements, lease agreements and other documents to ensure POPIA alignment and compliance.
- Developing and drafting a POPIA compliance framework in terms of Regulation 4(1)(a) of POPIA.
- Collaborrating with more than 10 business units within DTPC to develop and draft a personal information impact assessment in terms of Regulation 4(1)(b) of POPIA.
- Developing POPIA training and awareness materials and delivering training and awareness across the entire organization.
DTPC’s approach to the entire project has led to them being an organization that can without any fear of any contradiction, claim substabtial POPIA compliance.
